Jake White

Associate

Jake focuses his practice on a wide range of international arbitration and complex commercial litigation matters, as well as on antitrust and competition law investigations.

He has experience with high value, multi-jurisdictional disputes across a range of sectors including technology, telecommunications, health care, maritime and aviation, and has acted for a variety of multinational (private and public) companies. He has advised clients in conjunction with a range of dispute resolution mechanisms, including LCIA, LMAA and UNCITRAL arbitration, and complex litigation before the courts of England and Wales and the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). He has also advised clients on investment treaty arbitration.

Jake is recognised as a key lawyer in The UK Legal 500 2024 for International Arbitration and Commercial Litigation: Premium, where clients describe him as “a great asset to every case”, “exceptionally bright, and able to provide comprehensive, but commercial, advice”, “friendly and approachable” and “a really hands-on dedicated associate.”

Arbitration

Representing an oil-and-gas engineering solutions company in defending an ongoing $100+ million claim subject to DIAC Rules.

Represented respondent in multimillion-dollar product liability proceedings brought under the LMAA Terms 2017, involving multiple vessels.

Acting for respondent in ongoing multimillion-dollar product liability proceedings under the LCIA Rules 2020.

Advising respondent in multibillion-dollar DIFC-seated arbitration.

 

Litigation

In Specialised Vessel Services Ltd v Mop Marine Nigeria Ltd [2021] EWHC 333 (Comm), represented claimant in cross-border shipping dispute in securing permission to serve out of jurisdiction and subsequent anti-suit injunction in Commercial Court.

Assisted claimant in securing a multimillion-dollar summary judgment for novel COVID-19-related default claims in Commercial Court.

Represented claimants in claim for damages and injunctive relief for beach of restrictive covenants before DIFC Court.
