We are delighted to announce that Kimmie Fearnside and Nick Turvey have been promoted to partner, effective 1 January 2025. Based in London, both have been with Pallas since its launch in 2022, consistently demonstrating outstanding technical prowess and exceptional client service.
Kimmie is dual-qualified in both England and New York and maintains a broad commercial and financial litigation practice focusing on high value Court disputes. She also has experience in complex international arbitration matters. Most recently, she successfully acted for the Chilean former owners and directors of Australis Seafoods S.A. in a $1 billion English civil claim brought against them by Joyvio Group. Kimmie is also representing a significant group of institutional investors in a prospectus liability claim against Glencore plc, for amounts in excess of £2 billion.
Dedicated to pro bono work, Kimmie is Pallas’s pro bono lead, establishing and managing a market-leading pro bono practice. She acted for ClientEarth in its derivative claim against Shell plc’s board of directors for breaches of duties in respect of mismanagement of climate risk. Most recently, she acted for Trans Pride Brighton & Hove – a grassroots, community-led UK charity which organises the largest annual Trans Pride event outside of the United States. Kimmie was shortlisted as a ‘Rising Star’ for Litigation at the 2024 IFLR Women in Business Law EMEA Awards and is recognised as a key lawyer for Commercial Litigation in the Legal 500 UK.
Nick has deep experience acting for asset managers, financial institutions and insolvency practitioners on complex financial disputes, sovereign debt matters, and contentious insolvencies, and has led and advised on proceedings in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. He has also acted and appeared in bet-the-company ICC and LCIA arbitrations.
Nick’s recent matters include acting for Barry Maloney on the high-profile, ultra-high-stakes Commercial Court litigation concerning Workhuman, the £2 billion Ireland-based technology unicorn, and he is also representing the Liquidators of Farfetch Limited to appoint officers and investigate and evaluate litigation options to recover value for the creditors after an aggressive bridge-loan-to-own strategy. He also acted in complex English court proceedings against the Republic of Mozambique and Credit Suisse with respect to the “tuna bond scandal”, where amounts in dispute were over £500 million. Nick is recognised as a key lawyer for Banking Litigation and Commercial Litigation in the Legal 500 UK.
In addition, London-based Rekha Rogers has been promoted to counsel, also effective 1 January 2025. Rekha advises in complex, high-value commercial litigation and arbitration often involving allegations of substantial international fraud. She is also the firm’s environmental lead and is developing a broad ESG litigation practice, with particular emphasis on her interest in environmental issues, climate change law and international human rights. Rekha is recognised as a key lawyer for Banking Litigation and Commercial Litigation in Legal 500 UK.
Natasha Harrison, Founder and Managing Partner of Pallas said: “Organic growth is a key priority for Pallas and an integral part of our firmwide strategy as we continue to grow and expand in both London and New York. These promotions are a testament to the hard work and dedication that Kimmie, Nick and Rekha have demonstrated over the years. I look forward to seeing their continued success and valuable contributions to the firm.”
